One of my young ferrets had the same (or similar) problem. He is a 2 lb
boy and the vet put him on .175 cc of prednizone twice a day for 5 weeks.
This was about 7 weeks ago and he appears to be fully recovered. He will
be going back next week for another checkup but he looks and plays like a
normal ferret now.

The vet was considering a transfusion and stated that ferrets do not have
different blood types. Any ferret can donate to any other ferret.
