Here's one the Evil Petsitter told me as I was leaving Calif: Sounds
like baloney, but let me know if you have heard of it.

In the Middle Ages women going out, all dressed up, wore ferrets around
their necks -- not only as decoration but to catch their (ladies')
lice!!!
