I'm not really experienced as many of you are. You have the necessary
education in these important matters, but just a few questions if no
one minds. If the animal welfare laws are so lacking, why hasn't animal
lovers in that state worked to get them change by now. It takes time
and if a problem has been run into before such as DM's animal abuse why
haven't people gone after these state officials back then. Then we may
have some laws in place to go after Dm. I hope Ohioians will do
something now about their laws (and they very may have tried already).
I hope the shelters and owners here will start something big in that
state.

Why can't you go to the media now. There was a newscaster on WNBC, i
think, that was a big spokesman for the animals during the katrina
disaster. he would be the best to go to for this situation. I think he
would broadcast it. He can tell the country about some of these states
lacking in animal welfare (or non-existing) laws. Bring up to him that
there are thoughts of the ferrets being used for their fur just like
the mink. There are also some fashion designers now who are fighting
against the use of real animal fur in clothing. Maybe they can help. A
previous winner of Project Runway is one of them. Maybe we can somehow
contact them. This has to go national. It's no different than puppy
mills. Can puppy mills be shut down in ohio? Most of the suggestions
on here have been excellent but someone has to get the ball rolling. I
have been waiting for someone to set up a petition for us to sign but
haven't seen any yet. Maybe I missed it somewhere. Thats the easiest
start. And the suggestion of pictures is excellent. I think you will
need them in order to go to the media. Better yet a video. Maybe this
newsman (I just can't think of his name right now) will set it up
himself.

I don't know, i'm not an organizer or a go getter, mainly because i
dont know how, and inexperience, and lack of education on this that
many of you have. You are a great group of people and as one you have
the education and will power and maybe even some connections to get
this done. I almost wish we could go up there and sneak some of those
babies out of there. I look at my sweet spoiled little Gracie Girl and
my crazy spoiled Shakespeare and all his Shakeseriences, and cry for
these poor tiny ferrets suffering as they are. I just cry and thank
god for my ferrets having a good home. Well i guess i'm just rambling
but i'm also awaiting someone to put something concrete on th fml that
i can help with or take part in.
