Lisa I have a little guy now who is my 3rd rescue ferret with a broken
back. I do not consider him a burden at all. My 3 ferrets have all been
on the smallish side and didn't need carts to get around so I don't know
about that aspect witha 4# ferret. I can tell you that my little guy,
Nigel, is a joy for which I am so thankful for! He's a happy little guy
who loves to play!

The bladder expressing is no big deal at all once you learn how to do it
(your vet. should be able to teach you) and there should be no leaking
urine or urine burns once you get the hang of expressing the bladder.
Nigel often needs a little rear end bath in the morning since the poopy
monsters sneak out and mess him up but that is also no big deal. He
makes more laundry since he can't control his bowels but I just keep 2
bags in his cage and he trys very hard to stay clean by running to 2nd
bag when 1st gets attacked by those poopy monsters. He's my best lap
ferret and keeps me warm when I'm reading and also doesn't get into
troubl e knocking things off tables :)

I don't tell him he's handicapped- I tell him every day that he's my
special little joy!

Nancy
