25 years ago in Berkeley I moved into a house that had these nasty
critters. We bombed, we had professionals and it only temporarily
lowered their numbers. Then I got a can of PRUF (spelled that way). It
is a powder that you can line the inside of drawers and cabinets. All
the places a ferret can not get to. although it said that it is safe
for animals and children, I was a skeptic.

It kills as they hatch so it takes a bit of time, but it was 2-3 months
later I realized I had not seen a roach. I lived in that house for 6
years more and never, ever saw another roach. I swear by that stuff.
Thankfully they were gone and I didn't have any roached to move to my
next house and have not seen a roach in 25 years.

I got the Pruf at a hardware store. I hope it is still being made.
