I hope everyone is working their twelve steps of Ferrets Anonymous.  A step
a day and easy does it.
 
Mike D.: My ferrret smelled for a couple of months after I adopted him.  I
also feared that my clothes would smell of ferret and people would slip soap
and deodorant into my lunch box at work.  I shampooed him often and it did
little good.  Now he hardly smells at all and I rarely bathe him.  My
primary goal is to keep his bedding clean and I let him take care of the
rest.  I have read on the FML (I think) that ferrets smell when stressed and
adjusting to new situations and the smell tends to go away when they feel
more comfortable.  Hope this is the case with your buddies.
