Slinky our second ferret passed away tonight. I found him in the litter
box having a hard time breathing. Got my mom and checked for anything in
his throat. Had her call the vets while I did CPR. Wanted to make sure I
was doing CPR correctly. Unfortunately, he passed away. He was only 1
year old and a dark sable. Out of the five my son has this was his
favorite. My son is taking this very hard as well as all of us. Watching
my son pet his ferret for along time while he was not here shows how much
he really loved Slinky. It was very hard watching the other four say good
bye.

This is our third pet this year which passed and I have to say, I just
don't know if I can take anyone else passing. We all enjoy our animals,
but when they pass the pain lasts for so long. What is so odd is Slinky
has been healthy with no signs of illness. The only thing I can think of
is maybe he ate something, it got stuck in the area from the throat to the
stomach. I've read alot about ferret's so far and from my memory, ferret's
just don't die quickly and with no sign of illness. Does anyone know what
may have caused this? Life will never be the same without Slinky.
