The comment on adding Meow Mix to our assortment of high quality foods
is half tongue in cheek, but only half.  Ferrets did well then, but of
course there could have been other components rather than diet or a
combination of factors.  Heck, for all I know (or anyone else knows) the
neural crest disorder genetics so common now in North American ferrets
could cause a sensitivity to some food components which wasn't present
back then and certainly a person wouldn't want to put something hard to
digest into a ferret who has IBD secondary to ECE... (BTW, for those who
don't know, yes, we had early neuter ferrets back two decades ago here,
too.)
