For all of those who wanted to know "What happened?" in the committee hearing
on 4/25/95 in the CA legislature, you just witnessed it on the CBS This
Morning show.  The young lady makes a powerful arguement and presenting her
last does not enable us to counter her testimony.  Yes what happened to her
was tragic, but think if it had been a dog or cat.... she would no longer be
alive.   The location and condition of her parents at the time of the
incident is highly questionable, as stated in the testimony from the animal
control officer involved with the incident.  (I will send a copy of the
animal control officer's statement via e-mail upon request rather than take
up board space and time here.)
Bill Phillips was given the opportunity to respond and showed for the
appointment at the appointed time.  For what ever reason, the reporter
arrived an hour early and left just before Bill arrived.  Bill's phone calls
attempting to re-schedule were not returned.
I don't know what else to say....
