I'm not a vet, however, the 'drunken ferret walk' may indicate hypoglycemia
(low blood sugar) and if not diagnosed and treated, can be lethal. Please
have your ferret's blood sugar level checked to at least rule it out.

Two of my ferrets were dx'd with insulinoma this year - both young - and the
only indication was the 'drunken ferret walk.' One had a blood sugar level
of 50, the other 60. Both are now on pred and don't walk drunk anymore.

Just because a ferret acts fine otherwise, does not mean everything is ok.
Ferrets aren't supposed to walk drunk anyway, it means something is going
on. Please see your vet.
