I wonder if certain musics would be useful for abused ferrets and for
shelters.

We've found that our's will have favorite songs, tend to like singing,
and that plucked string instruments really go over which has always made
me wonder why I haven't heard a ferret banjo joke.

(Speaking of sounds, Meeteetse, one of our's was so big on the voice of
Richard Harris of NPR that she became something of an unofficial mascot,
showing up about 5 times during her life on All Things Considered. When
she passed away they did an obit on her, a kindness that still brings
tears to my eyes -- and I assure that is not because I am drinking a
Powell/Colonial Punch/Rum in milk. Meeteetse just loved his voice and
from the time she discovered him she had to kiss ht speakers when he
talked -- at least as soon as she finished her joy-dance marking her
happiness at once again hearing his voice. It's near the end of ATC's
Science Wrap from 11/25/2000 so you can hear it on their site if you
ever want to.)
