I am full of sadness today. My fears came true.

Slippers, Seymore's cagemate and lifelong companion left here today on her
own journey to the rainbow bridge to be with him. I can only imagine how
heartbroken she was when he died last week and she just gave up the will to
live. I tried to force her to eat and drink, but she just didn't have the
will to live anymore. Last night her hind legs gave out and this morning I
found her on the bottom of the cage. When I took her to the vet he said
her heart was failing and it was time to let her go. There was nothing
else we could do, so I let her go. She was 9 1/2 years old.

Seymore and Slippers were the 1st and 2nd ferrets I ever had and I will
miss them so very much. Losing them both only 6 days apart is almost too
much to bear, but their memories will live in my mind and their love in my
heart forever.
