But ferrets are work animals.  So are horses.  Coon dogs.  Llamas.  Work
animals are almost exclusively domestic.
 
The afore mention coon dog is also used in hunting.  No one considers
Bubba's howling skinny huntin' dawg a wild animal.  Now Bubba maybe...
