Several days ago I posted some questions about Abby's abdomen, asking about
ascites. Well, we did go to the Vet on Monday and got an answer. Along
with insulinoma, Abby has Lymphosarcoma. It has come on very quickly since
her surgery a month ago. The good news was, her glucose was finally over
100. She is still curious and able to get around even with the swelling in
her abdomen and legs. She also has swollen lymph nodes near her front legs.
She doesn't act like she is in pain and I'm thankful for that right now.
Our vet hasn't had good luck with ferrets and chemotherapy and I'm not sure
that's in Abby's best interest. I was told that she probably won't be here
for Christmas.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. I hope that Abby can spend her
remaining days at home enjoying life and without pain. Any suggestions
about making her comfortable in the meantime would be appreciated. Our vet
suggested warm baths but Ab hates water. Would a heating pad decrease some
of the swelling?

Once again thank you for being here. It helps to communicate with others
who are just as crazy about their ferts.
