I have to share that my application for a California Real Estate
license has been rejected.  The Department of Real Estate wrote to say
of my crimes which include "concealing an animal subject to rabies",
"brandishing a weapon at a police officer" (a long and tragic story which
I can't go into here) and "Possession of a ferret without a permit";
"each [is] a misdemeanor and a crime involving moral turpitude which
bears a substantial relationship under Section 2910 of the Regulations
to the qualifications, function s or duties of a real estate licensee."
