Many thanks Meg, Alicia, and Troy Lynn for commenting on Guin's seizure.
That's what it took to point out the very obvious.

For a reminder, I reported that 7.5 yr old Guin began gasping and gagging in
the wee hours of a couple Sundays ago; I thought it was toxic or allergic
when it should have been obvious that it was related to her many tumors,
including pancreatic cysts.

Many thanks to those above for suggesting the wholesome recipes, and
suggesting the simple remedy I should have been prepared for to begin with.
Fortunately, my little ferret-love Guiniviere was strong enough to pull
through, there by saving me, mostly, when I should have been saving her.

As an epilogue, let me explain that we've been to a couple vets a few times.
We visited Dr Brewster on Tuesday and Thursday, and Dr Greenacre on Tuesday
and Wednesday last week. Dr Brewster felt she was steady and showed
vitality, and so was out of danger and did not perceive complication. Dr
Greenacre witnessed a near repeat 'performance' (I borrow the word with
extreme loathing in this context) - Guin went limp and peed right as Dr G
came in the room; however this episode was sudden and relatively mild, Guin
recovering in a couple minutes.

Thanks to the list, I know what to ask after when I go to the vets. As a
result Guin gets a slight dietary modification, increased Prednisone, but no
Proglycem. The dietary modification is slight because of two things : Dr G
was adamant that protein is the key (Guin has *gained* weight since our
visit to Dr G in June), other additions could be destabilizing; furthermore,
of additions suggested, Guin showed a strong distaste for most ingedients
(it was really cute when I tried a smidgen of Brewers yeast mixed with milk
replacer; all though she likes the milk stuff by itself, she licked the BY
concoction, crinkled her nose slightly, rubbed her paw on her chin, turned
around, walked a few steps, and started rubbing her lips on the rug - the
gesture with the paw was as if she was saying 'O my God!' and then turned
away saying 'Why does he *do* these things ta me!?!??!!'. I'm leary of baby
foods because of starch additives, but she does get cooked chicken and
turkey and A/D formula food; now that UPS is back on line, I'm looking
forward to receiving TF again. Dr G does not recommend Proglycem - it is
depressing.

She's been rather active, exploring the trailer with a certain urgency.
Last night she galloped for the first time in months - several bounds and
that was it, but it's been a while. We had a close call Friday, but perhaps
the 1/2 teaspoon of Karo prevented an unhappy episode.

Thanks for the concerns and advice on the part of those above.
