Okay, first step, Jai: vet appointment -- now, no waiting, please.

If you do not have a ferret vet go to
http://ferrethealth.org/vets/
or other vet lists

You are inclined to think insulinoma, but that is not my first
inclination with this ferret both from symptoms and age. My first
inclination is to think that a large partial blockage may be present,
from an ingested foreign body (a hard bit of veggie or dried fruit, raw
hide, latex, rubber, eraser, etc.), a large fur ball (or pseudo fur ball
caused by ingesting bed fibers like fake fleece), a growth, inflammation,
etc. There are other possible causes, of course, but that is the most
typical one that is most consistent with the symptoms and age.

It is wonderful that the two vets to work together; otherwise, travel,
but if this is a blockage then the ferret should already have had vet
care, so get there promptly even if it means paying extra to do so. For
a blockage you may need to travel. Make an appointment for today as soon
as you finish reading this message, please. It is good that you know now
that blockages and their indications should best not be waited on for
anything beyond 24 hours, and preferably fewer hours than that, and now
others will also know. That is part of what time is for, to learn as it
goes on.

Ashton, have you begun Spring enough where you are so that the normal
Spring weight loss will have begun among your ferrets? Is there also
an increase in shedding happening, as happens in Spring and Autumn?
