Great news!  This is a good reminder to always introduce your ferrets to
your neighbors whenever possible.  This really helps in these emergency
situations.  It only takes a moment.  Usually, once anyone has seen a ferret
up close, they remember what one looks like in the flesh.  Because of
different colorations, a personal introduction helps.  It appears that in
many cases, it is an informed neighbor that helps in the timely rescue.
While collars surely help identify that the animal is indeed a pet, some
have reported bad experiences with their use while others swear by them.
