Last year I posted about a BBC film of pedigree dogs with major genetic
faults due to poor breeding practices. As a result of the film the BBC
refused to transmit coverage of the Cruft's dog show , the premier dog
show in the UK.

This year the Kennel Club (UK) have instigated health checks (by vets)
for all dogs of the effected breeds, before permitting dogs of these
breeds to be entered for this years show.

So congrats are due to the BBC for their stance and the public who
supported them in their fight against irresponsible breeders.

Tony.
