Katie broke her lower right canine tooth off, early yesterday or late Friday
(I'm pretty sure she had all four at the clinic. (I *warned* her not to
chomp on the cage door!) There is about 1/8" of a stub left above the
gumline. She seems to be eating and chewing kibble ok. Can this be left

as long as it doesn't appear to be bothering her, or should she go to the
vet to have it ?removed? ?covered with filling material? There is a
veterinary dentist in the same practice with my regular vet, so I'm not
concerned about where to go.

If I leave it alone, should I keep an eye on it, and if so, what do I look
for as a warning sign that it might be abscessed or infected. (Aside from
something as obvious as a loss of appitite.)

(Since she doesn't have to take down full sized cows for a food source, I'm
assuming something as complex as a cap is completely unnecessary. ;-) )
