Okay where do I start???  Yes smoking is bad.  But once you hit 18 you
have the right to make that decision for yourself, no matter the outcome.
People in this big lawsuit against the tobacco companies are very lucky.
Where else in the world can you go into a court room and state, "yeah i
knew they were bad since it was written on the side of the pack from the
surgeon general but now that i'm sick i want everyone else to pay for
it." If this makes you mad, good!  At least your thinking about it.
 
Come on people!  Let's think.  According to the way this is going if I
get into a car accident that was my fault then I can turn around and sue
the maker of the car for selling it to me!!!  Not gonna happen.
 
If I go to a bar and drink all night then I can go and sue the bartender
for serving me the drinks I asked for all night.
 
I'm sorry but I'm just really tired of people telling me not to smoke
because (stick one of the many reasons here).  I am well over the age of
18 and if i want to kill myself off slowly with each drag of a cigarette
then that is my right to do so without everyone telling me what a rotten
person i am for the second hand smoke!
 
And BTW FYI my grandmother died from smoking at the age of 54.

[Modertator's note: This is an example of a post which puzzles me because
it seems to have absolutely no connection to ferrets.  Certainly, we've
been dicussing smoking here, but as it related to ferrets.  In fact, I
think most people said individuals should feel free to smoke if they
wish, but that the effects on ferrets and others may be serious enough
that smoking away from ferrets (and others) may be a good idea.
 
Please, it's a sensitive topic and people have strong opinions, but let's
keep it related to ferrets.  BIG]
