What's the best way to reduce ferret odor?

For our home, we use Renuzit Aroma adjustable air freshener. I purchase
them at Walmart or Target for best price. I put 2 in each room. I
change them out as needed....around every 3 weeks.

Sometimes, I will burn incense or light a candle. But I only do this on
rare occasions. I must be in the room when I do this. Just won't take
any chances. And some candles are harmful to breathe in. How can I be
sure which is perfectly safe for my stinkers?

I have several of those air cleaning machines also to take out the odor
that have a filter. I usually have one on every night. It is a good
white noise and filters the air. Mine is made by Holmes. It is some
kind of air purifier to help my allergies to the little monkeys. I
have had it for so many years, the name has rubbed off.

Open the windows, keep the floors clean, change the litter twice a day.
Throw out the old litter so its' odor does not build up in the room. A
nice Citrus smell on the floor when you wash it is great aromatherapy.

Wash your curtains and YOUR bedding, if ferties are in there. I have
plastic sheets over my mattress to avoid their scent from seeping in.
Also keeps dust mites out. Clean in the corners of your room and cage..
Pull out cages and wash the walls. Do down and dirty scrubbing on
cages.

I just scrubbed kitchen floor this morning. I came away with black on
my paper towels every where I wiped. These guys seem to have an oil on
their fur. (??) I find it most interesting to see the black every week
in the kitchen. There is a film their little bodies seem to leave. The
floor has a dull sheen after they have been romping around a few days.
I have kibble and soup and fresh water in the kitchen for them, and
a corner with bedding where they like to nap. So they spend a lot of
time in the kitchen.

Hope this freshens up your room. If you cannot clean the drapes, spray
something that will not stain that smells nice on them. Sometimes I
spray on my favorite perfume.
