Hi all!
 
I just signed on after a friend started sending me excerpts from you all,
and I love it!  I thought I'd write and tell you a bit about myself.
 
My name is Debra, I go by De or Deb, I'm 46 years old, single-by-choise,
and live in Lansing Michigan.  I'm currently attending Lancing Community
college, as a full-time Phogoraphy student, and plan on taking some
Computer Graphics courses too.  I have 5 fuzzies: Pita (Which stands for
Pain-In-The-Ass, and she DOES live up to it....), Bogey, Schnitzel, Chip
and Chance.  I got Pita and her sister Cassia first, they were abandoned
and went to a shelter which is where I first saw them.  I fell
head-over-heals, of course, and brought them home.  Then I lost Cassie dues
to complication with the neutering, and so I was looking for another one,
when I got a call from the vet.  Seems there was a lady who had two, and
was looking for a good home for them, would I be interested?  I, of course,
said yes, and aquired Bogey and Schnitz.  Then a friend found someone who
had three and said friend wanted the cinnimon in the bunch, but the woman
wanted someone to take the other two....would I be interested??  (Yes, I
know....)so I aquired Chip and Chance.
 
Pita is a sable, and she is 1 yr, 1 month old.  She is a real sweety, and
LOVES to get into anything she can.  Bogey is a cinnimon, male, about 1 yr
2 months old, and such a pudge!  He is my laid-back ferret.  He has little
white "eyebrows" so he is forever looking like he has them raised and is
asking a question....my little "Pooh" (a ferret of little brain?....).
Schintzel is a little sable, 1 yr.  2 mth., and she is a skinny little
bugger with very thin hair.  She love to get up on the bed with me and
play attack ferret, she is SO vicious!  Chip is a silver mitt male, about 1
yr., and a love, he likes to have his snacks and then loves to climb my
knee-socks and beg for more....(I tend to call him Oliver...."Please sir, I
want some more?...").  Chance is Chips sister, and she is a sable with a
rust colored under coat.  She is a sweetie, and loves to pick fights with
Pita and Schnitz, (course they do their share of picking with her too).
 
It was great when I introduced them to each other, Pita, Bogey and Schnitz
acted like they were long lost buddies, and Chip and Chance did too, no
hissing, no fighting, no nothing!  It was fantastic.  I have really lucked
out with my guys.
 
I had two ferrets before these guys, Tawnie was my first, a silver-mitt,
Badger, and she was my little illegale alien from Ohio, as ferrets weren't
legal here then.  I had her three years before she developed colon cancer.
If Tawnie had been human, she would have been a hippy.  She was so
laid-back and mellow, she was a doll, and I miss her tons.  She died about
2 years ago.  Then I had Baby Doll, she and Tawnie became fast friends
before Tawnie died, and I am really glad of that.  Then the apartment
complex decided I could have ferrets, so I had to find a home for Baby.
But it was a good home and she is doing fine.  About 6 months ago, the
apartment changed hands, so I asked if I could have ferrets again.  They
said no, but they allowed Rabbits, Turtles, Guinna Pigs and the like, so I
wrote to the managers and sent them some articles on ferrets I got off the
internet.  I explained that ferrets were great pets, and that if they
allowed the others there was NO reason not to allow ferrets.  They agreed,
and sent back a letter saying I could have them.
 
I love ferrets, and photography.  I also love doing bead work, I make
beaded pictures and jewelry, and I collect old jewelry.  I also love folk
music, good jazz, reading, and surfing the net.  I LOVE Geraint Wynn Davies
& Forever Knight, the Pretender, Profiler, Fantasy/SF, Rutger Hauer,
Michael Ironside, Christopher Lambert, Richard Greco.  I'm very into Wicca,
and New Age things, I collect Tarot decks, and crystals.  I also love
playing games on my new Mac.
 
Guess that's it for now, I can't wait to meet some of you all, and to get
into the mailings, I have 5 lists so far, and am wading throught them now.
But I wanted to write and say hi.  If you'd like to write me, please do!  I
