Nathan asked about pet insurance:

I've seen about 4 different plans, and those cover dogs and cats only.

Also, none of them offer coverage comparable to human insurance - it seems
you pay alot for pet insurance, but not all things are covered - if a
particular breed is predisposed to certain illnesses, those things aren't
covered - so even if ferrets were covered, since they appear to be typically
predisposed to insulinoma and adrenal disease, most likely these things
would not be covered.

Vaccinations and spay/neuter typically have not been covered either.

It's been a while since I've looked at any pet plans, they may have changed
since then - but here's another point - all these plans are individual
plans - there is no "family" plan - so if you have a bunch of ferrets, it
could be quite expensive - not really worth it, IMO.
