Hi Cindy,
 
I had the same problem in our ferret room as they are free roam and were
doing a little number under the little dresser we have at the window for
the kitties that like to stay with them.  We put a small cat litter box
under there and clean it out 2x a day and no more poopie problems under
there.  I know that my not be the best solution as you can put bedding,
food etc to deter them but then I figure they will find someplace else
to go.  It worked for us anyway.
