Putting on my system manager's hat: from your description it sounds like you
did not have direct access to a nameserver.  Here is the script of such a
session run from one of our systems:
 
[deleted nslookup output indicating that 128.252.133.1 is, indeed,
wuecl.wustl.edu]
 
So 128.252.133.1 does appear to be wuecl.wustl.edu from the point of view
of the nameserver network.
 
[Thank you for the additional confirmation of my deduction of
wuecl's full domain name.  The only access I have to the internet
is via a restricted gateway which only allows me FTP and TELNET,
and I have no accounts outside the gateway to run nslookup on.
 
Keeping your SA's hat on for the moment, what is your policy w.r.t.
forgeries being issued from your site?  Do you think that I should
report this to Reed and WU?  Answer befure reading the next message.
