Honestly I haven't followed this situation year to year month to month.
But having been 'around" on and off for a long time and my sense is
that DM plays the both the ferret rescue and organized/club community
like a musical instrument. There has been organized help for his
ferrets before with what ends up amounting to volunteer employees (who
are really there for the ferrets) supporting his cash operation and
so his business and abuse goes on and on. People have tried the work
from within approach. I can only assume that he and his daughter are
emotionally and mentally deficient. Which is not to say they aren't
shrewd and manipulative. It won't work. If you want to help the ferrets
I understand that. But it really needs to be a two prong approach -
with another parallel effort to just shut him down. Because he's been
doing this for years in cycles and will continue. I'm sure that he
has other mentally deficient people working as his stooges which make
it harder but if there are any of the previous leaders of efforts to
document his abuses and trying to shut him down still around they
should be contacted and all the information compiled and taken to the
authorities, the H.S. PETA anyone who will pressure him. The enemy of
my enemy is my friend. It would be nice to have a legal fund, both to
taken him to court and deal with his predicted threats of suing for
slander (if you have a hot lawyer on retainer and can shoot back tell
your lawyer to call my lawyer people often shut up).
