I am in a quandry!! I have a beautiful gentle silver mitt male that is
around two years old. He has always been very accepting of other animals
and ferrets. We run a small rescue and have never had a problem with him
accepting the transiants before. Recently we took in six new rescues,
from different sources. While he hs accepted two of the newcomers he gets
really vicious with the other four. I have had to isolate him it has
gotten so bad. He litterly hunts them down as soon as he is free. I have
tried slow and methodical integration, I have tried time outs, I have tred
herbal remedys. In short I am at a loss as to how to get thes guy to accep
these four new ferrets. He picks on them in order, he starts with a
certain one and workd his way through all four. He draws blood and gets
VICIOUS. Any one have any ideas please e-mail me direct. This guy is one
of my ferrets and so farming him out is out of the question. If necessary
he will just stay by himself until the new ones find good homes. The only
problem with that is we were thinking about keeping one of the new ones for
our own. E-mail me at [log in to unmask] thank you.
