Back in early November, I had written the Iowa Dept. of Health regarding
its plans for updating quarantine policy in reference to the '98 compendium.
I received the following response:

>Iowa enthusiastically adopts the observation policy of ferrets that is
>the same for cats/dogs.  In a de facto sense we have been using that
>policy for several years here at the state health dept.  Since our agency
>and Iowa Dept of Agriculture and Land Stewardship have adopted the
>compendium by reference so adoption of this change should be automatic.
