>Where are the hundred purchased ferrets now?

out of the 100 and more - 23 went to Indiana and the rest are here in
Michigan.

>What have been some of their health issues?
>Treated as wild caged animals by the breeder, and kept in a punishing
>environment, how severe were their biting issues?
>Did they ever respond warmly to a human?

Most of all of them have been ADV tested - All come in very hungry, but
in general no major health issues. We do have 6 pregnant Jill's (that
we have arranged Forster homes for), and a few of the gentleman (Hobbs)
are in rut. None of them have had major health issues, But these are
the hand pick ones they allowed us to get out. ALL are biters, but they
are coming around - some have been adopted out - but we still have
those with people issues... Yes they (not many) have given kisses and
been adopted.

>Did many have some form of parasite?

The Last group that were picked up are invested with fleas & its only
going to get worse.

>Will you ever think of accepting checks? I never did pay pal,
>and do not know if a donation could be recorded properly to be
>a deduction(?)

We will except checks / and are checking into excepting credit cards.
As I mentioned before - this account is set up for the Mckay Ferret
Rescues Only - in it's own bank... Pay pal puts it directly into that
account Also - If you need a receipt - we will more that happy to send
one to you - and once we see monies sent into the pay pal account we
will sent them an e-mail thanking them for the donation with our tax
exempt # on it.

>When were the ferrets purchased, and how many yet remain in shelters
>up for adoption? '

The first group were bought in January, the rest in the last month (but
NOT ALL were bought)

>Are they being allowed to breed in the homes they are now in, or are
>they all altered before being adopted out? Is there a web page of
>adoptable babies? Do you know if the ferrets still in Ohio living in
>terrible conditions..guessed at 2000 now, are all whole ferrets?'

They are NOT ALLOWED to BREED at ALL, as soon as they are brought in,
they are evaluated, then when monies are available , spayed/neutered.
We are a Rescue Organization we do NOT support breeding!! Monies that
we raised will go only towards medical help, such as spying/neutering,
and other medical conditions. If a Person takes in a pair for breeding
or takes in a Hob/Jill for the same purpose, we will & can not support
their efforts.

As far as whats left - We cant save them quick en oft. I figure - we
rescued 6 prego Jill's from there - That would have been another 30
Babbie's (most ferrets have a litter of 8 - 12) I just took a lower #.
So if we were to take a different 6 that would mean that 2/3 erd's
would have been put back into his system after what was taken. That
is why we have to get them ALL out in one swoop
