If our ferret were to be left or even reared in the wild, then their life
expectancy would plummet because of several factors.
 
The ferrets in our homes do not have to fight off enemies to stay alive
or have to search for food each day and shelter each night, this is all
provided for them.  So it is no wonder they have a higher life
expectancy.
