Thank you Elaine, for shedding a little light on our strange situation.
 
The Vinnie you refer to, however, the one mauled by a dog and injured
(but survived) while loose may have been described to you as 'the first',
but according to Mr. Owings he was the *third*.
 
On 02/03/13 Mr. Owings posted to us about Vinnie Jr. and Sr., who were
described as having died "a few months ago."  One killed outright by a
dog, one killed by David beneath a mattress.
 
Probably you are referring to the Vinnie that was loose, mauled by a dog,
declared euthanized due to hind end paralysis, then declared resurrected.
 
The posts related to this appear in the FML on 02/04/15, 02/04/17, and
02/04/17.  This is the same Vinnie that was killed on 03/02/18 when Mr.
Owings stepped on him.
