Who in their right mind would leave ferrets loose with a 10 day old baby.
One thing my ferrets used to do was to chew the faces off of all the
stuffed animals in the house.  And they had a blast doing it.  Common sense
tells you they would do the same to a baby.
 
And why were they destroyed?  No serious damage was done?  Why couldn't
they just be re-homed somewhere with a new owner who had more sense?  Why
do the children and animals have to suffer because their parents and owners
don't have a brain?
