Hi Andrew, Sorry to hear about Scratchy being missing. Please, please,
put up posters around your home - with a picture of Scratchy if possible,
and a ph # for people to reach you at. If Scratchy is a hearing ferret,
most hearing ferrets come to a squeaky toy - try calling him that way. I
think one of the most important things is to get the word out about him.
Knock on your neighbors' doors. Try to get some people to help you look
for him.

I have found that non-ferret owners, dont know to be as careful and
cautious around ferrets as we owners are. Sometimes, no matter what
you say, the non-ferret people just dont get it when it comes to our
ferrets - not saying anything bad about them, but they just dont
understand. In the future, maybe you can put the ferrets back in their
cage when visitors are over, or if they are free roam and not used to a
cage, ban them to one room, and close the door.. of course with their
food and water and toys and whatnot.

Please go look for him and put up posters. To answer your question,
yes, there is always a chance that he can survive a cold night.

Good luck, I hope you find him.

Andrea
