Hello Everyone,

Yes, we do exist and know this is long over due. It is also, the beginning
of scheduled updates I hope to get posted at least once a month.

First of all, want to THANK everyone for their outpouring of prayers,
support and generosity for the barn babies (update at end of post).
Unfortunately, there are many more in need of the same generosity as you
will see as you read on.

I spent the day at Dr. Spindel's yesterday with Pugsley & Houdini.
Pugsley, who had several diseases (Lymphoma, Insulinoma & Adrenal), left us
yesterday and need I say how it hurts? Houdini's Inulinoma has progressed
and he has lost most of the use of his back legs and it has come to be a
burden for him to use the bathroom and just to get around. His quality of
life is fading and I am faced with deciding what is more humane for him.
Please remember him in your prayers.

Tikki & Leah have had their surgeries and are doing fine. Tikki had a very
large ovary left inside which was removed and adrenal glands, all else was
fine. Leah has now been spayed and her mate, Tucker, when health allows
(if it ever does), will be neutered. Both surgeries were $205.00. Along
with a previous balance of $86.00 for fluids, exam, meds and vaccines for
other shelter ferrets. They are holding post-dated checks until I raise
the money. We have personally paid $113.00 on the previous balance. The
account number at Dr Spindel's is Client # 389.

Lumpy and Squeezil will be next to remove skin tumors. Dr Spindel and his
Mentor/cousin, a NY exotic animal doctor, very ferret knowledgeable, will
be coming in to Clemmons, NC to do all adrenalectomies at one time. They
are going to schedule a whole day for shelter surgeries.

The projected cost of these surgeries is, $1,800.00 and could go higher if
right adrenal gland is involved. We need to get at least half of the funds
up to cover these costs and posted to the account before surgeries. I will
be taking orders for tubes, sleep sacks, hammocks, etc. and sewing every
chance I get and am trying to get together enough items to take to the
local auction house since I don't have time to devote to a yard sale. Have
purchased 4 more ferret figurines to sell also.

Donations can be made directly our account. Make checks payable to: Animal

The *barn babies* have made a complete recovery and are very happy living
with Mary. The male, Mr. Roboto (for his quick, precise movements), is
2.45 lbs. and the girl, Precious (for her sweet, loving nature), is 1.92
lbs. with beautiful coats. Both have been fixed now and have done a
complete 180* in temperament. And with many thanks to all the wonderful
donations and prayers that came in, will live a long, healthy, loving life.

Please keep all the shelter babies here and everywhere, in your prayers and
in your hearts. Their life and quality of, depends on wonderful people
like you and your generousity. Won't you please help?

With many, many thanks to all of you!

Ferret Love to all,

Diane Campbell and the *Shelter *Pride*
