When I was helping the committee plan the Ferret 2002 Symposium, I was
hoping it would be informative and fun. What I didn't expect is that it
would be romantic.

Apparently high on endorphins from the exciting Symposium, Betty (Blur
o Fur) Janner and James (artist extroadinaire) Scott decided to tie the
knot after 20 years of happy cohabitation.

Betty and James were joined in connubial bliss on Monday February 4,
approximately 2pm, at the Chapel by the Courthouse in Las Vegas. The sun
shone down benevolently and the weather was lovely as the ceremony took
place outdoors at the gazebo.

Bob Church served as best man, and Lisa Wagner was matron of honor, as
well as wedding planner. My own beanie ferret was the ring bearer,
proudly carrying the matching silver ferret rings. Other attendees
included Helen McLean, Bill Gruber, Tom Wagner and myself. Betty's
bouquet consisted of 9 little umbrellas from the Mai Tai lounge of the
Imperial Palace. The bouquet was caught by Helen, as Bill looked on in
consternation. Unfortunately, no kibble was available for tossing at
the happy couple.

The reception was held at the sports bar of the nearby Golden Nugget hotel
and casino. The guests dined on pirouettes and Mai Tais, while Betty and
James shared a couple pieces of fudge chocolate cake.

Immediately after the reception, Betty and James hit the road for the
return trip to Calgary, where their business will greet them with fuzzy
kisses.

Bob, Tom, Bill and myself all served as wedding photographers, so expect
pictures to be posted in the near future.

I was honored to be part of this joyful occasion, and I hope you will
join me in congratulating Betty and James, and in wishing them happiness
and joy together.
