Hi, My name is Johnny, I don't own a Fert yet,but I'm preparing to get
one,or two,or three :) Right now I'm just collecting as much info and
tips as possible. So you may not hear from me much, but know I'm out
there and I love ferrets as much as you guys.

Angela, you asked about Kock's Cages. I've never bought a cage before,
but as I browsed their site, two things really stuck to my mind, although
they look like good cages to me,and I do like some of the designs.

1) Some of the cages were made from Galvanized Steel,Yikes! I'm not sure
about pets nibbling on the bars, but I did some welding with this type of
steel and it's nasty stuff,It contains Zinc the fumes would leave me with
a headache, sometimes I would have a hard time breathing for a short time
afterwards, which are a couple signs of what's called galvanized
poisoning. like I said, as far as nibbling on the bars,if your little
furries do,I don't know what effect it would have on them, but just to
be safe, I'd stay away from it myself, and

2) other cages were made with "coated" steel, coated with what? can my
little ferts nibble this coating off and get it lodged in their little
tummies? A serious question that needs to be asked. if you do order a
cage from them, I'd request one made from stainless steel, just to be
safe. IMHO.

I hope this helps.
Johnny
