I don't know if this will help...[or confuse you more...]...but we have
a small swimming pool in the ferrets room...it is RED since they have
'preferred' red in the past...red robe to sleep in...etc...
 
we filled it with 4" diameter plastic balls from Toys-R-Us...kids love
it... but here is the strange thing...i have at least one, Meeja, that
takes the RED balls out and throws them around the room or down the
stairs...JUST the RED ones...
 
prolly not much help..but at least we know mine REACT to red...:)
