A week or two ago, I noticed my neighbors had debarked their obnoxious
little dachshund. I just about threw a party in their honor! That dog had
been yapping his head off at me at least once a doy for years. I love
dogs, but come on! If he doesn't even notice that he isn't making any
sound, where is the cruelty? If they want to let their debarked dog run
loose and _try_ to bark at me, more power to them. The silence is
definetly worth it in this neighborhood. As for declawing, I think the
arguments can't help but degenerate to a question of personal freedom--
there will always be circumstances where surgury like this is necessary, so
complaining about it's existance is a waste of time.
[Moderator's note: Yeah, this could degenerate quickly... let's all try to
resist turning it into a mess or I'll ... *gasp*... moderate! BIG]
