Hi Everyone,
I am writing to let everyone know about 2 special babies at the rescue,
who will soon be having surgery to save their lives. The first is a
beautiful chocolate girl who is approx. 5. Her name is Peanut, and she
was surrendered to the rescue when her military family was sent overseas
and they could not take her. She came with a cagemate who she is very
bonded to. Peanut is so full of life, but one day she began to limp and
lost a little weight. We took her to our vet and she did blood work and
x-rays and found a tumor at the top of her leg and it had totally
separated the bones in the leg. She must be in incredible pain, and we
are giving her pain medicine now but still tries to play with the others
in her group. With the results of the blood work we have found it to be
lymphoma and the rest of her body is in excellent condition and free of
tumors. We have been giving her pred this week to try and reduce the
tumor, and her surgery is scheduled or tomorrow. This surgery is
estimated to cost $500.

The other is a silver male named Marlin, who came from Rockys. Marlin is
the sweetest boy and would give kisses forever. His eyes started to look
a little funny and appeared to be watering a lot. We took him to the vet
and it was found that he has Glaucoma and both of his eyes will need to
be removed. He is on meds right now awaiting his surgery, which is
estimated to cost approx. $200 per eye.

Please think good thoughts or both of these babies and if anyone would
like to donate toward these surgeries, it is greatly needed and much
appreciated. Funds can be sent via paypal to

or sent directly to the vet and marked or the rescue with the babies'
names listed. The address for the vet is Chadwell Animal Hospital 3004
Emmorton Road Abingdon, Md 21009. Anything sent for these babies would
be appreciated.
