I walked into the kitchen today and heard a really strange sound. Turns out,
it was one of my ferrets, wheezing in his sleep! It was VERY loud... He
hasn't had any sudden change in behavior or energy levels that might signal
being sick... he's been eating fine, playing like normal... When he's awake,
his breathing doesn't sound abnormal (as I assume it would if he had
pneumonia), and he hasn't been sneezing or had any eye discharge. I'm
worried, but I really thought I'd be seeing some other symptoms if he had
pneumonia... is it possible he's just asthmatic? I've had him since Labor
Day, and I've never heard this before... (He was just at the vet for something
else a week ago...)
