I haven't posted for a bit, because I am so far behind in reading the FML,
and I am not up on things; I don't know who has suffered or had great
things happen, and I don't want to go on and on about little Fang, when so
many of you have your own sorrow to carry. I've been on a mega search for
info on insulinoma since Fang's surgery. Sometimes we read so much about
a topic or an illness, but don't retain enough to be sufficient when we
need it ; as in *whammy*, it suddenly applies to us DIRECTLY, and we need
it NOW!

Fang is still recovering from his partial pancreatectomy (sp?) , right
adrenal surgery, his near bleeding to death, and his blood transfusion.
The news has not been great, however, on his follow up glucose tests.
Prior to surgery, it was a low 37...after surgery it shot up to 232.
(normal to do so). The next two were back down, however, with the last one
climbing back up to a 56. Guess he will have to go on pediapred, as so
many of you have first hand experience with. We will decide by Thurs.,
when he gets his stitches out.

I took him off his Duck Soup and he is back on kibble (Iams), but he just
doesn't eat very much. All he really wants is Riley Dog's food (no, no),
and doggie Alpo treats. (once in a while they are okay). He acts spiffy
when awake, but doesn't stay up very long at a time. He even goes up and
down the stairs, but just doesn't eat much. Maybe when I give him some
other things I intend to try, (adding Eukanuba Kitten to his Iams...he
hates Totally Ferret), and Bob's Chicken Gravy, he will eat more at a time.
I still haven't made the gravy, as I was waiting to find out from some of
you what you thought about adding the tube of Ferretvite (can't buy
nutrical here, and I assume it is the same ingredients) and I have just
been so intimidated by the whole thing. If he doesn't like THAT, I will
feed him AD mixed with chicken baby food. Main problem we have is finding
something he will eat out of a bowl! He shouldn't need to be syringe fed
any longer, he just doesn't eat much if we DON'T. <sigh>

I will go to the ends of the earth for him, and do whatever I have to do.
Your prayers and e mails have helped so much, and my faith has definitely
been nourished due to your kindness. When I tell others how wonderful you
guys are, they seem surprised that you could be so compassionate,
intelligent, and just down to earth good for the soul. Some of you have
literally revived me and kept me focused; you know who your are, and I
love you.
