Hi All,

In response to my earlier post, there has been another pregnant female in
bucks county. This poor woman went into a pet store to get a ferret and
ended up with three. The ferret had two babies. The woman will keep
them but is outraged by the lack of morals on the part of the pet store
for not confirming the babies were altered.

As for my rescues: Both moms and their babies are doing well as of 130pm
today. Though I have found homes for the moms, the babies will need to
find homes. We are attempting to raise money to have them all altered
before they are adopted. This means they will have to stay until they
are 6 months of age or older. If anyone wishes to adopt them at 4 months
of age, we require an adoption agreement to be signed stating you will
alter them at 6 months of age. Upon proof they were altered, we refund
$25.

Also in response to shipping them, I will but only with the following:
1. Weather must be no higher than 85 degrees (the airline will not ship
them if the temp is higher and it is not good for them anyway)
2. Babies will have to be 4 months or older.
3. They adoptor must pay for the expenses which include, flight fare
(averaging around $150 for one carrier with a max of 2 ferrets per
carrier = $75 per ferret), health certificates and if they are old
enough, adv testing. The moms have tested negative. Distemper shots
and rabies shots are included in the adoption fee. Also cost for the
carrier will be included in adoption fee.
4. The airline must have a mini-cabin which is pressurized and
temperature controlled. The only airlines I know that do this are
   United and Midwest Airlines.

I would prefer not to ship them but if it helps them to get good homes, I
will. And fas or those of you in the midwest, I have a division in Iowa
and sub-shelter in Nebraska and can have them driven back to the midwest
after out March 2005 Show.

Also in an effort to raise money we are holding an ALL SPECIALITY SHOW
on July 17th at
the SIlver Lake Nature Center, 1306 Bath Road, Bristol, PA 19007.
The money raised will be distributed to the LOS Shelter kids in need.
The cost to enter is $10 for one entry and $8 for multiple entries.
We will have rings such as: Albino, Black Sable, CInnamon, Chocolate,
Mitt, Mutt, Blaze/Panda, Sable, Siamese, Fine Point, About Perfect and
Petstore/Rescue. We are hoping we have a good turnout so that we may
help all of the shelter kids we have in need of medical attention.
Though I know everyone is hurting, we would also like to extend help to
our rescues as well. All the rescues registered with us, will receive
help as well, assuming we make back our costs for this event.

Our May event went over well and we would like to thank everyone for
all their help and for coming to our event. We hope to see you in
July as well. If you would like more information, please contact
[log in to unmask] I hope everyone is doing well. Thank you for
listening.

Sincerely,

Dawn Smith, Vice President
