Part 1 of far too many ...
What a terrific family! You all are just wonderful! Thanks ever so much
for your thoughtful advice and help. My pals and relatives thought a ferret
Website and e-mail mag was hilarious and wondered what we had to talk about.
I showed them just one day's postings and they were astonished! Anyway,
here's something I've encountered and I wondered if anyone else has seen
this:

My rowdy little male albino - Shredni - is, we suspect, madly in love with
our stuffy old white female kitty, Angel. She won't put up with him
wardancing at her, and swats him a good one if he gets too close (she's
declawed front and back and can only give him a serious patting). He
cringes when she swats, and occasionally will creep up on her, in a very
submissive, almost worshipful posture, and lay his head down right in front
of her paws. It's a scream!!

She sighs, rolls her eyes and turns her head away but doesn't swat at him.
What does this mean?? Is she the White Goddess to the Weezil King? He
never frolics with her, and if he accidentally leaps on her he cringes and
runs away. If she's in a bad mood she's been known to seek him out and swat
him a few times -- he'll cringe and cower but not run.

**What is going on here?** What are the dynamics of the Shredni/Angel
relationship?

I should also add that we have a tiny little female weezil -- Scooter -- and
she will run Angel off from the food dish, a favorite patch of carpet,
whatever. She's about one-tenth the size of Angel and not at all afraid of
her. They've gotten into a few short-but-serious (but bloodless,
fortunately) fights that resulted in tufts of white hair flying -- and
Scooter won each time. Any ideas what's happening here? It's a hoot to see
all that worship going on between Shredni & Angel.

BTW -- Last summer I found a tee-shirt at in Crivitz, Wisconsin that had a
technicolor print of a ferret on the front and said "Buy Weasil Whiz Beer."

Also: What is the most terrifying possible mutation to an animal companion?
Ferrets with wings.

>They didn't really fight, he would just go somewhere she wasn't. I finally
>had enough. I picked them up one day, one in each hand and said, in a
>stern Baptist voice "We all live here together and we are going to get
>along... The next day they were sleeping together in the undershirt drawer.

This happened several years ago with two kitties who shared our lives.
Sometimes, a deep, stern voice explaining how "things" ARE GOING TO BE is
very effective -- works on human kits, too.

Part II ...
>I have one taped to the trunk of my car right next to my green ribbon).
>I am seeking information to pass on to vets practicing on ferrets through
>out the US.....>

What does the green ribbon signify? Red for A.I.D.S., pink for breast
cancer, blue for no censorship on the i-net (or is it against child abuse?),
yellow for please come home, but I haven't heard of a meaning for green as
yet. Anybody know the meaning behind the green-ribbon-ferret relationship?

>It's NOT the Ferrets that are the Animal. The'human' had wrapped rubber
>bands tightly around each paw... and the resultant swelling and agony had
>driven the ferret nuts...

How horrible. No animal would do something like that to another. Only
two-legged monsters.

>One day after Josie passed on, they found this fert in need of help. Did
>Josie direct this little one to her mom and dad? We believe so....Josie is
>now a little angel ...saving ferts in need....

My beloved cat, Willie, died July 12, 1991 and broke my heart. But just a
few days later our little albino ferret, Shredni, (a.k.a The Shredman)
appeared at the humane society where I worked. Shreds had been abandoned
outdoors, in a nearby college town. When nobody claimed him I brought him
home . He has the same funny, bouncy personality that Willie did. I know
Willie sent him to me and we'll meet again at the Rainbow Bridge. Thanks,
darling.

<Could someone please send me the reciepe for 'duck soup' and 'elixer' and
>give what they are used for???
I'd like to know, too. Sounds tasty!

>Has anyone else been having difficulties when they receive the FML lately?
Receiving is fine, but the e-mail on the Digest end refused to take this
attachment (yes, I know it's very long, but I'm relying on BIG to split it &
run parts of it when space & time permit).

Rainey and Storman, the human slaves of Angel and Cairbre (two kitties),
and Shredman and the Scootlady (ferrets, of course).
