Some states/counties don't care.  We had a ferret bite several years ago.
The woman bit begged animal control not to put the ferret kit down.  She
said she would get the post rabies shots and pay for it her self.  This did
not stop the county from testing the ferret.  So for the most part the
person bit is as helpless as the ferret.  The only reason the bite was
reported is because it happened at a doctors office.  They had to follow
protocall(sp) The owner of the ferret was somewhere around 6-8 years old.
This one realy pulled at my heart strings.  Alot like Kodo.  When will this
madness stop?
