Ferrets are highly intelligent creatures that are rated in learning-set
experiments to be as smart (or smarter) as primates of the same size.
Learning itself is a form of enrichment, and the modification of
learning-set experiments--those that challenge the intelligence of a
ferret--can be used to enrich a ferret's life. Carbone, Amber, and
Lady Noir are using olfactory senses to find the treat hidden within one
of a series of plastic eggs in an application of the "Be An Egghead"
enrichment.
