Hi Mike

It is always a tough call on force feeding a sick ferret like you have
to be doing, I have used NutriCal/NutriGel warmed to a thin liquid and
gently syringed into the side of the mouth as a feed alternative, it is
easy to swallow and I have heard of ferrets going a month on this when
unable to swallow other foods. NutriCal/Gel is full of vitamins and
nutrients. A small amount goes a long way.

I also use some Metacam in a lactose free pet milk (Orally Syringed if
needed) to ease pain so when my ferrets are taking food it doesn't hurt
to swallow.

Ensure he is kept hydrated, and I hope things improve soon for Sprout

When feeding the NuriCal/Gel you only need a small amount eg less than
the toothpaste to clean your teeth. It comes in a tube so is easily
squeezed out.

Cheers

Michelle
