Thank you everyone for your responses, it looks like it is best to
keep the scent glands in. I did not know how bad it could be to have
them removed. Now my decision has been made for when I do get another
hob. I did have a hob a few years back. I waited till he was 8 months
old and had him neutered. My vet did leave the scent glands in (my
decision). He poofed occassionaly afterwards. The poofing never
bothered me. My problem was that his anal sacs started getting impacted
and had to be cleaned out and it happened more often. Even though I
tried to everything right, I still lost him at the early age of 5
years old.
