We've now lost our second ferret (the first was an older ferret who
went peacefully in his sleep): Angus, the ferret who escaped through
the windowscreen into the big, bad world, was hit by a car. He was
only five months old, so full of life.

We are at a complete loss to understand this tragedy. It seems so cruel.

What I want to know is this: how long does it take before you stop
beating yourself up, or God, or whoever let this happen? Any advice
in the meantime?

We are, of course, giving extra love to the remaining three. Sometimes,
though, this is more painful, due to the sole fact that they aren't
Angus.

Thanks for your help and thoughts.
Laura
