Hi there,

ADV is the initials for Aleutian Disease Virus. ADV is a parvo virus that
can infect ferrets. (Aleutian Disease virus is more common in mink.)
Aleutian Disease can cause various problems from mild weight loss and
lethargy all the way to kidney failure and death. Recent outbreaks in
Texas and several other states have produced a lot of fatal cases, thus
ADV is a viral infection that can cause serious problems. Check out
www.geocities.com/russiansmom for more info about Aleutian Disease.

Hope that helps,
Jerry Murray, DVM
PS-ECE is a corona virus infection that causes diarrhea and
dehydration, but it is usually not fatal to healthy ferrets.
